Listen: Lana Del Rey - “Young & Beautiful”
Taken Off The Great Gatsby Soundtrack
Apr 22, 2013
Lana Del Rey
Lana Del Rey‘s music has always seemed to immerse itself in a certain old world decadence and luxury, so it’s completely unsurprising that director Baz Luhrmann would tap the young songwriter to contribute a song to his upcoming film adaptation of The Great Gatsby. Pitted right alongside heavyweights Jay-Z, Beyonce, Florence and the Machine, and Jack White, Del Rey has produced “Young & Beautiful,” a sweeping ballad that sounds better than anything she wrote on her debut Born to Die. Click below to listen to the track and its “orchestral version.” “Young & Beautiful” will be available as a single tomorrow, with the full soundtrack out May 7 in the U.S. and May 6 internationally.
