Listen: Local Natives Share New Song - “Villainy”
First Piece of Music From Third Album
Jun 06, 2016
Local Natives
It’s been three years since Local Natives released their last album, 2013’s sophomore effort Hummingbird. But back in April the Los Angeles band shared a brand new song, the driving, anthemic, and festival-ready “Past Lives.” Now another new song has been premiered by Zane Lowe on his Beats 1 radio show on Apple Music (it’s today’s “World Record”). The song is entitled “Villainy” and Lowe describes it as the first music from the band’s currently untitled third album. Whether that means “Past Lives” isn’t actually on the album is unclear. Listen below, along with Lowe’s interview with the band’s Taylor Rice and Ryan Hahn, who say they wrote up to 50 songs for the new album (as opposed to the 16 - 18 they wrote for each of their previous albums).
