Out April 9
Mar 06, 2013 M83
Next month Tom Cruise returns to the sci-fi genre with Oblivion, a film set on a post-apocalyptic Earth after an alien invasion. Providing the otherworldly score to the proceedings is M83. This morning the French electronic artist has premiered the first taste of his work with the track “StarWaves.”
According to Rolling Stone, M83’s Anthony Gonzalez collaborated with Joseph Trapanese on the soundtrack, who had previously collaborated with Daft Punk on the soundtrack to Tron: Legacy. In addition to the compositional score M83 also recorded a new track for the film, featuring vocals by the Norwegian singer Susanne Sundfør.
The soundtrack for Oblivion will be released on April 9th on Back Lot Records, while the movie will hit theaters on April 19.
