Listen: Mark Lanegan and Beth Orton – “Your Kisses Burn” (Marc Almond and Nico Cover)
In Honor of Heavenly Recordings’ 25th Anniversary
Jul 20, 2015 Beth Orton
The British label Heavenly Recordings is turning 25 this year. As part of the 25th anniversary celebration they’ve commissioned Mark Lanegan and Beth Orton to team up for a duet cover of “Your Kisses Burn.” The original duet was recorded in 1988 by Marc Almond of Soft Cell and Nico. It ended up being Nico’s last ever recording, as she died of a heart attack later that year. Lanegan is a more recent addition to Heavenly, but Orton’s 1996 debut album, Trailer Park, was released by the label. Check out the cover below, followed by the original.
