Listen: The Album Leaf and Peter Broderick – “Never Held a Baby”
Meeting of Minds
Jul 16, 2014 The Album Leaf
“Never Held a Baby” is the new collaborative track from The Album Leaf and Peter Broderick. It’s their first official collaboration, after Broderick offered a violin assist on Perils From the Sea. It’s actually kinda surprising it didn’t happen sooner—The Album Leaf have been one of the pillars of dreamy, atmospheric pop for ages, and when not working on his solo material Broderick used to hang with likeminded outfit Efterklang.
“His solo work also blew me away so I asked him about making a song together,” says The Album Leaf’s Jimmy LaValle via a press release. “He came to Los Angeles to record his new record and when he was finished, we met for the first time, ate breakfast, went into my studio and wrote and recorded ‘Never Held a Baby’ in an afternoon.”
Listen to the results below. While no additional collaborations have been announced, we certainly wouldn’t be angry if this is the first of many.
