Listen: The Dead Weather - “Open Up (That’s Enough)” (Preview)
Launching New Single Series
Oct 02, 2013 The Dead Weather
Following his recent solo outing behind Blunderbuss, Jack White has reconvened with his Alison Mosshart-fronted side-project The Dead Weather announcing that band will be recording and releasing a series of two-song singles from now until 2015, culminating in a full-length record that will collect the singles as well as number of album-only tracks.
Kicking off the series will be the new 7’’ “Open Up (That’s Enough)” b/w “Rough Detective,” available through the platinum edition of Third Man Records’ Vault Subscription service. According to the label, “The 7’’ this go-round is incredibly special. Two BRAND NEW studio recordings from the Dead Weather. ‘Open Up (That’s Enough)’ and ‘Rough Detective’ are unlike anything else the band has ever done and are both ample reminders of the ferocity of this motley collection of low-lifes, grifters and ne’er-do-wells. These songs are not throw-aways. These songs are not demos. These songs are not outtakes. This 7’‘will ONLY be available via Vault subscription. No other 7’’ of these songs will be made. The whole thing is pressed on striking yellow jacket vinyl and coupled with a custom glue-pocket picture sleeve, a slight shift from the Vault’s usual die-cut company sleeves.”
Down below you can listen to a 30-second preview of the A-side track. You can sign up for the subscription package here. Along with the 7’‘, subscribers will a receive a concert album and DVD by The Raconteurs, Live at the Ryman Auditorium.
