Listen: The Mountain Goats - “Cry For Judas”
New Album Transcendental Youth Out Oct. 2
Jul 25, 2012 The Mountain Goats
John Darnielle and The Mountain Goats will soon release their latest album Transcendental Youth on Oct. 2. This morning the band has provided a downloadable stream of the record’s lead single “Cry For Judas.” According to a statement by Darnielle, much like a lot of the record, “this song is about saddling up your demons and learning to ride them like devil horses with big leathery wings. To the best of my knowledge, it’s also the first song ever to feature both a swinging horn section and a line about a baphomet drawn in chalk on an altar cloth, so everybody else who was trying to square that circle can take a breather now.” Click below to listen.
