Netflix’s recent show Stranger Things has become a bit of a culture phenomenon, so much so that Lakeshore Records are releasing two volumes of the soundtrack. The ‘80s set fantasy show costars Winona Ryder and is inspired by such classics as Poltergeist and The Goonies. Kyle Dixon and Michael Stein of the Austin-based synthesizer band S U R V I V E composed the show’s John Carpenter-esque score. Volume one of the soundtrack gets a digital release tomorrow (August 12) and a physical release on September 16, with volume two coming digitally next Friday (August 19) and physically September 23. Today two songs from the soundtrack were shared, “She’ll Kill You” (via Pitchfork) and “A Kiss” (via Entertainment Weekly). Listen to both below.
