Lost in the Trees Announce New Album
Listen to New Track "Red"
Jan 10, 2012 Lost in the Trees
North Carolina collective Lost in the Trees have announced the release of their forthcoming sophomore album. Entitled A Church That Fits Our Needs, the record is largely a response to the death of bandleader Ari Picker’s mother, who took her own life in the summer of 2009. According to band’s press release “Picker set about transforming the events into a musical tribute, composing and writing with his mother’s picture above his desk: the same picture that now graces the album’s cover. ‘I wanted to give her a space, in the music, to be, and to become all the things she didn’t get a chance to be when she was alive,’ Picker says.” Due out March 20 via Anti-, the record’s first single “Red” can be streamed over at NPR.
