Lykke Li Shares Video for “hard rain” Chronicling a Volatile Relationship

Sweden’s Lykke Li is releasing a new album, so sad so sexy, on June 8 via RCA. Now she has shared a video for previously shared single “hard rain.” Li stars in the cinematic video with Moley Talhaoui, a Swedish artist/illustrator. Mainly it features lots of shots of the couple being in love, making out in the shower and in a pool, but then the relationship becomes more volatile towards the end and there are also interesting shots of nature. Anton Tammi directs the video, which you can watch below.
Previously Lykke Li shared the album’s first two singles, “hard rain” and “deep end,” as well as a video for another song from the album, “utopia.” Then she shared an intimate iPhone-shot vertical video for “deep end.”
In April Lykke Li shared a mysterious new 90-second teaser trailer that featured new instrumental music and was also entitled so sad so sexy. It featured the singer/songwriter is various states of dress in several settings.
Lykke Li’s last album was 2014’s I Never Learn. In February she shared a new cover of Jim Croce’s 1972 single “Time in a Bottle.”
In 2016 and 2017 Lykke Li released some music with LIV, a Swedish supergroup that features Li, her romantic partner Jeff Bhasker, Andrew Wyatt from Miike Snow, Pontus Winnberg from Miike Snow and Amason, and Peter Bjorn and John‘s Björn Yttling. In September 2016 the band was announced via the debut of their first song, “Wings of Love.” Then in October 2016 we were treated to a NSFW video for the song directed by Li in her directorial debut. Then in November 2016 there was another song from the band, the slow-burning “Dream Awake.” In June 2017 LIV shared a third song, the upbeat “Heaven,” via its lyric video. Then in September 2017 they shared a delicate new song, “Hurts to Liv.”
