M.I.A.
M.I.A. has shared a new song, “Poc That Still a Ryda,” via a video that features cars and horses racing each other in the desert. In the song she references the Black Lives Matter movement and the lack of diversity at the 2016 Academy Awards, among other things. Watch and listen below.
M.I.A.‘s last album was 2013’s Matangi. She has said that her new album is finished and has been turned into her U.S. label and hopes that it will be released in July or sometime this summer. Although, she is still dealing with visa issues that are currently preventing her from coming to America and performing here.
M.I.A. had this to say in the YouTube page for the “Poc That Still a Ryda” video: “This song is a mix of all the songs on my upcoming Lp - had to do a remix to let u know , i been poor , i been rich , i been brown , i been black , i seen white and i been around the world a few times ay ay ay ay . LOVE IS THE ANSWER what the question is i don’t fucking know. we in this together.”
