Madonna is releasing a new album, Madame X, on June 14 via Live Nation/Interscope/Maverick. Now she has announced some intimate concert residencies for this fall. She is performing multiple shows in a different theater in each city, with shows in New York City in September, Chicago in October, and Los Angeles in November. Shows will be announced later for Las Vegas, Boston, Philadelphia, Miami, Lisbon, London, and Paris to happen in 2020. Check out the New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles dates below.
Ticket requests will be accepted between now and Friday (May 10) at 11:59 p.m. EST at www.madonna.livenation.com, where fans can select there preferred city, show, and price point and will be notified by May 17. Tickets will be priced between $60.00 and $760.00 (there will also be 10 tickets per show priced at only $10 and fans can enter at www.madonna.com for a chance at those, although fans won’t be notified until the date of the show).
Previously Madonna shared Madame X‘s first single, “Medellín,” which features Columbian reggaeton star Maluma. Then she shared another new song from the album, “I Rise,” which opens with a sample of a speech by Emma González, a survivor of the Stoneman Douglas High School shooting.
Madame X is the 1980s icon’s fourteenth studio album, the follow-up to 2015’s Rebel Heart. Madonna has been living in Lisbon, Portugal for the last several years, which influenced the album. It thus features lyrics sung in Portuguese, Spanish, and English. Mirwais produced the album, which also features production work from Mike Dean and Diplo, among others.
Madonna had this to say about the album in a previous press release: Lisbon is where my record was born. I found my tribe there and a magical world of incredible musicians that reinforced my belief that music across the world is truly all connected and is the soul of the universe.”
