“Man of Steel” Sequel to Feature Batman for a Superman/Batman Movie
Director Zach Snyder Revealed at Comic-Con Today

Various sources covering Comic-Con are reporting that Man of Steel director Zach Snyder just announced at the Warner Bros. Comic-Con panel that the sequel to his superhero blockbuster will feature none other than Batman. It’s long been thought that a Superman/Batman movie was an inevitability, and the LA Times broke the news earlier today that this announcement was in the offering at Comic-Con, but it’s still a bit of a surprise that the Caped Crusader will be showing up in the next Superman film.
Henry Cavill will be back as Superman. There’s no word on who will be playing Batman, but Snyder has already gone on record saying that the Man of Steel universe is a different one to the one of Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy, so smart money would suggest that it won’t be Christian Bale or Joseph Gordon-Levitt (who was given the keys to the Batcave at the end of The Dark Knight Rises). The word is that this movie might be out as early as 2015.
Before Batman Begins and Superman Returns, director Wolfgang Pettersen once tried to make a Superman/Batman movie that never got off the ground.
This is obviously Warner Bros.’ attempt to get a proper DC Cinema Universe going, to rival Marvel’s, with the road eventually leading to a Justice League movie. Questions abound as to whether or not this will mainly be a Superman movie that also features Batman or if Batman will be more prominently featured. Snyder apparently revealed little at Comic-Con, but did show an image of the Man of Steel logo combined with a Batman logo.
