Memory Tapes Announces New Album, “Grace/Confusion”
Listen to NewTrack "Shelia"
Oct 02, 2012 Memory Tapes
Memory Tapes, a.k.a. Davye Hawk, has announced that he will release his third album Grace/Confusion on Dec. 4 on Carpark. The follow-up to Hawk’s 2011 LP Player Piano, the new six-song record is made up of “fragmented hooks, snatches of melodies and bombasts of instrumentals.”
“I’ve always explained Memory Tapes as pop music as field recordings,” says Hawk in a press release. “I decided to showcase a kind of chaotic reaching. I don’t think the record is flat-out shooting in all directions though, because I kept trying to rein it in as much as I embraced it. That’s why I called it Grace/Confusion.”
Along with the album announcement, Hawk has shared one of the record’s included tracks, “Shelia.” Click below to listen.
