Merchandise Announce New Album and Tour Dates, Share “End of the Week” Video

A Corpse Wired For Sound Due Out September 23 via 4AD

Jul 19, 2016 Merchandise

Merchandise have announced a new album and have shared a video for its first single. A Corpse Wired For Sound is due out September 23 via 4AD. Below is the video for its first single, “End of the Week,” followed by the album tracklist and the band’s just announced tour dates.

A Corpse Wired For Sound is the follow-up to 2014’s After the End. For the album the band stripped back to the trio of Carson Cox (vocals, electronics), Dave Vassalotti (guitar, electronics), and Pat Brady (bass). Merchandise partly recorded the album in Rosà, Italy, which were their first ever sessions in a recording studio. The album was recorded half in the studio and half at home in Tampa, as well as in New York and Berlin (where Cox was temporarily based). A Corpse Wired For Sound‘s title was inspired by a science fiction short story by JG Ballard. Cox directed the “End of the Week” video himself.
