Last September the North Carolina Legislature proposed an amendment to its Constitution that woudl ban legal recognition for all unmarried couples and strip protections and benefits from families across the state. Before the bill is put to a vote next month, Merge has announced that it will present a special benefit concert at the Haw River Ballroom for the Coalition to Protect NC Families, featuring sets by Bob Mould, David Cross, Stuart McLamb of The Love Language, Tig Notaro, Amber Tamblyn and Superchunk. Taking place on May 6 and starting at 8 p.m., you can support the opposition of the amendment. Tickets are available here.
