Minor Victories is a new supergroup (although supergroups often hate being called supergroups). It features Slowdive’s Rachel Goswell, Mogwai’s Stuart Braithwaite, Editors’ Justin Lockey, and Hand Held Cine Club’s James Lockey. They are working on their debut album (one that features a duet between Goswell and Sun Kil Moon’s Mark Kozelek), but in the meantime have shared a new short film that clocks in at 3:48 and is appropriately titled Film One. The strange black & white clip features music from the band. Watch below, via Pitchfork.

According to Pitchfork, James Lockey described the film as such: “This is Minor Victories - film one. You could call it a teaser trailer? Album trailer? Album trailer teaser? Stripteaser trailer teaser? Super Internet trailer of tease based on an album? Long player teaser moviefilm? The prequel to the sequel to the adaptation based on the remake of the original teaser…trailer…?

It’s not really any of the above… Just the First hello.”
