Monsters of Folk Album Art Released
Intricate Cover Illustrated by Matt Hollings with a Full Booklet to Match
Sep 04, 2009
Monsters of Folk
Indie super-group Monsters of Folk have released the album cover for their forthcoming self-titled debut CD. According to Stereogum, the cover art is the work of illustrator Matthew Hollings and is, essentially, a sketch of the four indie luminaries—Conor Oberst, Jim James, M. Ward and Mike Mogis. Hollings rendered just the faces of the four musicians set them against a background of leafy art nouveau entanglements. The entire image loosely resembles an ornate four-windowed portrait frame.
Again, Stereogum reports that the booklet comes replete with photos from Autumn de Wilde and complete album lyrics.
The album will be released September 22nd on Shangri-La Records.
