My Brightest Diamond to Release Split 7-inch with Dayna Kurtz July 20th
Singer/Songwriters to Cover Each Other’s Material
Jun 30, 2010 My Brightest Diamond
My Brightest Diamond’s Shara Worden is set to a release a split EP with singer/songwriter Dayna Kurtz. Available July 20th, the project sees the ladies covering each other’s material. Worden will be taking on “Postcards from Downtown” while Kurtz is retooling Bring Me the Workhorse cut, “Gone Away.”
Says Worden via press release of the project, “In 2002 I first heard Dayna singing ‘Postcards from Downtown’ at the old Living Room in New York’s Lower East Side only to find that I had tears on my face. I was overwhelmed by Dayna’s incredible voice, lyrical imagery, soulfulness and expressive playing. When I did finally meet her years later, I was so nervous because I was such a big fan. Thankfully she laughed at my jokes. Here, she renders my heart into pieces with her stripped down version of ‘Gone Away.’”
