Neneh Cherry Announces First Solo Album in 16 Years
Produced by Four Tet

Neneh Cherry has announced plans to release her first solo album in 16 years. Produced by Four Tet, and featuring a guest appearance by Robyn, the as-of-yet-untitled record was made over a five-day period, recording and mixing two songs a day. “It was a liberating experience, not endlessly trying to fiddle with the music, re-recording hundreds of times,” says Cherry in a press release. “These days it’s easy to create any effect or sound on a computer; it is much harder to get the rawness I think we’ve achieved.”
The new solo LP will be Cherry’s first since the release of Man in 1996, and follows The Cherry Thing, a collaborative album with the Scandinavian free jazz collective The Thing, which featured new takes on songs by The Stooges, MF Doom, and others.
