Neneh Cherry Announces Her First Album in Fifteen Years
The Cherry Thing Out June 19
Mar 21, 2012
Neneh Cherry
Swedish chanteuse Neneh Cherry hasn’t been around much since 1996 album Man. (Although if you listen carefully you can catch her vocals on Gorillaz’s “Kids With Guns” and Teddybears’ “Yours to Keep.”) Today, Cherry announced she’s returning to the scene with The Cherry Thing, due out June 19 via Smalltown Supersound.
The album sees Cherry partnering with Nordic jazz trip The Thing (hence the clever title), and covering tracks by the likes of Suicide, The Stooges, Martina Topley-Bird and more. Check out the tracklist below.
Tracklist:
1. Cashback (Neneh Cherry)
2. Dream Baby Dream (Suicide)
3. Too Tough to Die (Martina Topley-Bird)
4. Sudden Movement (Mats Gustafsson)
5. Accordion (MF Doom)
6. Golden Heart (Don Cherry)
7. Dirt (The Stooges)
8. What Reason (Ornette Coleman)
