New Chemical Brothers Album Due Out June
Further Accompanied By Film
Mar 30, 2010 The Chemical Brothers
Further is the seventh studio album for The Chemical Brothers and it’s due out on Freestyle Dust/ Astralwerks on June 8, 2010. The album will be released with corresponding visuals. As described in the press release the album, “for the band used to dealing in psychedelics; this time around The Chemical Brothers have really pushed the proverbial envelope.” Eight tracks off the album have a film created specially to match its musical counterpart. The films were planned during the recording of the album and were created by Marcus Lyall and long time collaborator Adam Smith. Smith, a respected TV and film director, has been making visual backdrops for The Chemical Brothers since their debut in 1994. The band will be playing four shows at London’s Roundhouse in May, which will be the first time to see the films in their entirety and in sequence. The Chemical Brothers will then go on to play a few select festivals in Europe, such as the Sonar Festival in Barcelona, before they come to the U.S. for a summer tour. A few of their U.S. stops will include the Hollywood Bowl on August 29 and Electric Zoo at Randall’s Island in New York City on September 9.
