Three Songs Released via Band's Twitter Account

Robin Pecknold sure knows how to croon away those Monday blues.
The bearded Fleet Foxes frontman turned this relatively uneventful Monday morning into an indie-folk playground, unleashing three fresh solo tracks via the band’s Twitter account. The all-acoustic material was recorded “a couple weeks ago in Los Angeles,” Pecknold writes in an update. He makes a point to add that the tracks are not an exclusive first-listen from the forthcoming Fleet Foxes LP Helplessness Blues, due out May 3 on Sub Pop. According to Pecknold: “These aren’t Fleet Foxes songs, but I didn’t know where else to disseminate it.”
But is this his unassuming way to announce a new solo project? Only time—and further Twitter updates—can tell. For now, Fleet Foxes fans can pass the time between now and May 3 with these three “pretty mellow jams,” which include a stirring duet with Grizzly Bear‘s Ed Droste, the gentle yet lively “Derwentwater Stones,” and an elegaic cover of New Zealand folk artist Chris Thompson’s “Where Is My Wild Rose.”
Listen to Pecknold’s triumvirate of freshly recorded folk tunes below.

Do you have any video of that? I’d want to find out some additional information.
