Celebrating Piano Day
Mar 30, 2015
Nils Frahm
Yesterday Berlin-composer Nils Frahm helped launch the inaugural celebration of Piano Day, honoring the instrument that has helped shape his prolific career.
Marking the occasion, Frahm released a brand new album titled Solo. Recorded in one sitting on the Klavins M370, the largest upright piano ever built, the entire eight-song collection is available as a free download, and features the previously shared track, “Wall.”
For those that decide to actually purchase the LP on vinyl, CD, and iTunes, proceeds will go to helping Frahm and piano builder David Klavins build an even larger piano, the Klavins M450.
