“Nirvana” Reunites For Virginia Tech Homecoming
Sub-Pop Plays Along For Musically Uninformed College Student
Jul 25, 2013 Nirvana
Recently, a letter sent to Sup-Pop records made the rounds on the internet. The letter, from a Virginia Tech mascot planning the school’s homecoming, asked the label politely if they could get Nirvana back together for a short video saying “Go Hokies!”
Instead of breaking the bad news (nearly twenty years too late), Sub-Pop obliged, and got the legendary alt-rock crew back together for one last hurrah, er, hoagie.
You can see the clip and read the letter below. Kudos to Sub-Pop for playing along—I just wouldn’t want to be the one person not in on the joke.
