For those of you who are already stoked about Jason Segel’s return-to-form Muppets movie this fall, NPR has recently begun streaming the entirety of the flick’s tie-in tribute record, Muppets: The Green Album. Featuring covers by My Morning Jacket (“Our World”), Andrew Bird (“It’s Not Easy Being Green”), OK Go (“Muppet Show Theme Song”), Weezer (“The Rainbow Connection”), and Sondre Lerche (“Mr. Bassman”), the album is scheduled for release on Aug. 23, and is available in deluxe package form for you uber-fans out there. I think this record would be great. Usually the Muppet movies have great songs, and it would be interesting to listen to the covers to the songs by various artists. I especially loved the OKGO cover of the theme song. Easy purchase for me!
