Previously Oasis put out deluxe reissues of their first two albums, 1994’s Definitely Maybe and 1995’s (What’s the Story) Morning Glory? Now they have announced the next installment in their Chasing the Sun reissue series, 1997’s third album Be Here Now. The band have shared a new mix of the album’s single “D’You Know What I Mean?” by guitarist/singer/main songwriter Noel Gallagher which is being tagged as “NG’s 2016 Rethink.” Listen to it below.

Noel had this to say in a press release about the new mix of the song: “As the years went by I’d started to accept that the songs on Be Here Now were in fact insanely long… too long! Someone (I can’t remember who) had the idea that we re-visit, re-edit the entire album for posterity’s sake. We got as far as the first track before we couldn’t be arsed anymore and gave up….it does sound fucking mega though!”

Brian Cannon who did the original “D’You Know What I Mean?” single cover art has re-imagined the cover art for the new version of the song (see above).

The Special Edition CD, Deluxe Download, and Super Deluxe Box Set formats include 14 previously unreleased album demos recorded on Mustique Island, a Caribbean island, in 1996. They are appropriately labeled the “Mustique demos.”

“They bring back memories of what turned out to be - if nothing else - a bloody awesome holiday!” Noel joked about the demos.
