According to this Pitchfork news item, Emily Eavis, co-organizer for Glastonbury Festival, has organized several benefit auctions with Oxfam to aid Haiti earthquake victims. Unique items up for bid include a drum machine from The Chemical Brothers, a tour jacket signed by Coldplay’s Chris Martin, a guitar belonging to Alex Turner of Arctic Monkeys, and (perhaps most notably) a song. Gorillaz’s and Blur’s Damon Albarn will graciously donate his songwriting talent to the highest bidder with a song written and recorded by Albarn for the winner’s personal use, “subject to terms and conditions.”
Check out Oxfam’s eBay page for the one-of-a-kind memorabilia up for auction. All proceeds go to benefit Oxfam’s Haiti relief effort.
