Papercuts Sign to Sub Pop
New Album Expected in 2011
Mar 31, 2010 Papercuts
Papercuts will now be a part of the Sub Pop family. Sub Pop, who are huge fans of the artist, got the A-Ok from Papercuts’ Jason Quever when they persistently asked him to join them. The Sub Pop press release jokes: “And, as often happens when a young record label develops a ‘thing’ for an artist, we eventually got down on one knee and asked our lawyers to ask his lawyers if he would do us the honor of joining the Sub Pop roster. Luckily for us, he said yes!”
Over the last six years, Papercuts has released three albums, including last year’s You Can Have What You Want, which was released on the Gnomonsong label that’s run by Vetiver’s Andy Cabic. Now, Sub Pop intends to put out a new Papercuts release “in the first part of 2011.”
