Parcels Share Video for “Tape”
Parcels Out Now via Kitsuné/Because Music

Parcels
Parcels are an Australian five-piece, although they are based in Berlin and have French connections. Last October they released their self-titled debut album, via Kitsuné/Because Music. Now, ahead of their Coachella performances, they have shared a video for the album’s “Tape.” Carmen Crommelin directed the video, which was partially filmed last month at Chicago’s Lincoln Hall during a recent North American tour. It features Pearl Spring Voss as Penelope, who is also featured on the album’s cover. She attends the band’s concert dressed in a rope, with her hair wrapped in a towel. Watch it below, followed by the band’s upcoming tour dates.
When Parcels was announced the band shared a video for a new song from it, the flute-inflected “Lightenup” (which was one of our Songs of the Week). Their 2017 single “Overnight” was co-written and co-produced by Daft Punk, although the song isn’t on the album. Then album track “Everyroad” was our #1 Song of the Week when the album was released. They also shared a slasher film-themed video for “Withorwithout,” which starred actress Milla Jovovich (The Fifth Element, Resident Evil) and Danish actor Carsten Nørgaard (The Man in the High Castle) as a married couple whose house is invaded by masked murderers (played by the band).
The band features Louie Swain (synth), Patrick Hetherington (synth), Noah Hill (bass), Anatole Serret (drums), and Jules Crommelin (guitar), who are all schoolmates from Byron Bay. A previous press release compared Parcels to The Beach Boys, Chic, and Steely Dan, filtered through modern pop music. The band might appeal to fans of Phoenix, for example.
