Passion Pit’s Michael Angelakos Honored For Mental Health Awareness Efforts

Last month, Passion Pit‘s Michael Angelakos was honored at the Erasing the Stigma Leadership Awards, recognized for his efforts in bringing awareness to the issues of mental health. Angelakos, who opened up last year about his battle with bipolar disorder and depression, gave an incredibly heartfelt speech at the ceremony, discussing at length how his newly-made-bride has helped his endure his “uninvited guest” over the years and how such support systems are needed for those afflicted with such illnesses. Video of Angelakos’ moving words have recently surfaced online, and is highly recommended for anyone who is or knows someone battling these kinds of issues.
