Los Angeles singer/songwriter Phoebe Bridgers released her debut album, Stranger in the Alps, back in September via Dead Oceans. Now she has shared a video for “Would You Rather,” a song that features Conor Oberst (of Bright Eyes). Oberst appears in the video too. It features people with televisions for heads, with Bridgers and Oberst sometimes appearing in those TVs to sing. Watch it below. Bridgers has also announced some new tour dates, which are below too.
Read our recent exclusive interview with Bridgers and check out our photo-shoot with her.
Bridgers recently shared a cover of the Christmas classic “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas.” The original was written by Hugh Martin and Ralph Blane and was first sung by Judy Garland in the 1944 musical Meet Me in St. Louis. The artwork to Bridgers’ cover featured ghosts in front of a Christmas tree (Stranger in the Alps’ cover also featured a ghost).
The 22-year-old drew some attention back in January for her single “Smoke Signals” and in 2015 also released a three-song single, Killer, produced by Ryan Adams. Previously Bridgers shared a lyric video for its first single, “Motion Sickness” (which was one of our Songs of the Week), as well as a video for “Motion Sickness.” Then she shared the very sad but beautiful “Funeral,” in which she laments “Jesus Christ I’m so blue all the time” (it was also one of our Songs of the Week).
