Phoenix Announce “Bankrupt!” Deluxe Edition Featuring 71 Bonus Tracks
"Sketches" Taken From Their Recording Sessions
Mar 13, 2013
Phoenix
One of the more interesting ways about Phoenix and their recording process, as you will soon learn more about in upcoming issue of Under the Radar, is that the French rock band doesn’t write their songs using the standard beginning, middle, and end template. They develop them from fragmented bits and parts, culling together what works and what doesn’t to create a finished song. Over the two year period working on their forthcoming LP Bankrupt! they wound up with a lot of leftover puzzle pieces.
For the deluxe edition of Bankrupt! Phoenix has announced that they will include an additional 71 “sketches” from their sessions. While only two of these barely come close to reaching the two-minute mark in length, each snippet is designed to give the listener a glimpse into the band’s songwriting process.
Bankrupt! arrives April 23 on Glassnote.
