Porridge Radio - Stream Their Final EP and Read Our Review of It (Plus New Farewell Tour Dates)

The Machine Starts to Sing EP Out Today on Secretly Canadian

Feb 21, 2025

Porridge Radio previously announced that they are breaking up and releasing a final EP, The Machine Starts to Sing. That EP is out today on Secretly Canadian and can be streamed here. You can also read our review of it. The band have also announced some more dates in the farewell tour. Stream the EP below, read the review here, and check out the dates (which include some new EU shows in May and June) below.

When the EP was announced they shared a new song from it, “Don’t Want to Dance,” via a music video.

The British band released a new album, Clouds in the Sky They Will Always Be There For Me, last October on Secretly Canadian. The songs on The Machine Starts to Sing were recorded during the creation of that album, but aren’t meant to be considered as offcuts or extras. Dom Monks produced the EP.

Dana Margolin, who fronts Porridge Radio, had this to say in a previous press release: “This is the last new music from Porridge Radio and marks the end of the band. The songs on this EP are an important part of Clouds in the Sky They Will Always Be There For Me, and mean a lot to us. We are excited for you to hear them. This band has been our life, we’re family now. These tours will be our last. Thanks so much for listening.”

Previously the band shared Clouds in the Sky They Will Always Be There For Me’s lead single “Sick of the Blues,” which was one of our Songs of the Week. Then they shared its second single, “A Hole in the Ground,” via a music video. It was also one of our Songs of the Week. Its third single, “God of Everything Else,” also landed on Songs of the Week.

The band also features Georgie Stott (keyboards, backing vocals), Sam Yardley (drums, keyboards), and Dan Hutchins (bass). Porridge Radio’s previous album, Waterslide, Diving Board, Ladder to the Sky, came out in 2022.
