Portishead Working on New Album
Follow-Up to 2008’s Third
Feb 27, 2014 Portishead
In a Q&A with The Quietus at Norway’s By:Larm festival, Portishead guitarist and producer Adrian Utley divulged some exciting information: that the band has begun the writing process for a new album. According to Utley, it could take a while before any new music is released - Portishead is well-known for waiting long intervals between records - but the members are “clearing [their] schedules” in order to expedite the process.
From the article: “Interestingly, Portishead are currently out of contract with any record label, something that Utley sees as a strength. He says the band feel very fortunate to have been able to build their career before music sales started to slide, as that has given all the members time to pursue their various side projects.”
Hopefully the band will be able to continue their streak of high-quality releases.
