Premiere: Cocktails – “Adult Life” Album Stream
Due Out June 17 On Father/Daughter Records
Jun 16, 2014 Cocktails
San Francisco quintet Cocktails makes power pop music that its forebears would be proud of. The band’s debut full length, Adult Life, ups the ante on its previously released 7” singles, polishing its sound and creating an album that stands with the classics. Molded in the image of bands like The Rubinoos, The Records, and Shoes, Cocktails bring melody, harmony, and guitar rock in equal measures. Songs like “Tough Love,” “A Little Bit Faster,” and especially “Bob Pollard’s Mind” are overtly melodic, über-catchy jammers. It’s fun, happy, and musically satisfying. But don’t take my word for it.
