Premiere: Curse of Lono - “Send For The Whisky” Video
From Critically Acclaimed Debut "Severed"
Sep 01, 2017 Curse of Lono
London five-piece Curse Of Lono, founded and fronted by Felix Bechtolsheimer, formerly the singer-guitarist in British roots pioneers Hey Negrita, released their debut album ‘Severed’ back in April on Submarine Cat Records. The debut, produced by Boxed In frontman Oli Bayston, has been greeted with critical acclaim, described as a “sumptuously cinematic record that combines harmony-laden Americana with driving, gothic alt-rock.”
“Send For The Whisky” is the band’s “rootsy, rhythmic” new single arriving October 27th and we have the premeire of the video directed by Shane Davey and shot in east London’s Wilton’s Music Hall, the world’s oldest surviving grand music hall. Curse of Lono’s music seems to thrive in tandem with the moving image. Their self-titled debut EP, released last October, also formed the soundtrack to ‘Saturday Night’, an award winning short film of inter-connected music videos that was an international film festival hit.
“Send For The Whisky” is a bit remeniscent of early Beta Band, before it surges into its gleeful all-in chorus that wraps you in southern americana hospitality and cheer. Check out the new video:
