Today, we’re premiering the video for Doe Paoro’s “The Wind,” a haunted single written amidst the fallout of Hurricane Sandy and produced by Justin Vernon (Bon Iver). Connecting with us via email, Doe Paoro shared some thoughts on video:

“A few years back I became committed to this practice of never claiming to completely “know” anyone in my relationships, because the moment we assert to know something, we stop exploring it’s possibility to change or surprise us. When I come from a place of believing that even my family members are capable of showing me aspects of their individuality that I haven’t seen before—when I come from that space of possibility—amazing things happen. We are all in constant transformation and this video attempts to show that as the protagonist changes forms, searching for roots to keep her grounded throughout all the shifting versions of herself. “

Below, you can check out Doe Paoro’s upcoming tour dates and watch the clip, which was directed by London-based animator/illustrator Jack Brown.
