Personal update: Our bags are packed. Relevant update: We’ve got a few more Iceland Airwaves mixtapes for you. Today’s entry comes from Gyda Valtysdottir. A notable member of the Reykjavík music community, Valtysdottir writes bewitching cello compositions in addition to the brag-worthy achievement of co-founding Múm. Check out her mix below.

“This is a post-airwaves mixtape, it´s for those days after you´ve return to your everyday life and the memories from the festival start to create a bittersweet cloud of melancholy around you,” she says of her picks. “It feels sometimes like a minor heartbreak, to come down after a blissful time. This is a playlist of music that feels holy to me, almost like a warm hug. Dim the lights, burn a candle and for ultimate effect find a friend, take your clothes off and stroke each other’s skin. Enjoy.”

Next up, dig into previous jewels in our special mixtape series from: Ceasetone, Pink Street Boys, Ásgeir, Jo Goes Hunting, Tonik Ensemble, Pale Honey, Good Moon Deer, Hildur, Lost Horizons, EinarIndra, and Una Stef. Are you joining us? Are you having a hard time sleeping from all the excitement? Same. Brief yourself on festival info here so you don’t miss anything important.
