Premiere: Jaye Bartell – “Light Enough” Video
Light Enough Out This Friday
Apr 28, 2016 Jaye Bartell
Tomorrow, Sinderlyn will release Jaye Bartell’s latest full-length, Light Enough. It’s a hushed and patient record centered on the singer/songwriter’s vocals and guitar, and sonically it recalls of the spartan templates of Leonard Cohen and Sibylle Baier. Yet just as Bartell’s voice is singular (sturdy as stone yet unfailingly gentle), so to is his songwriting, which manages to summon wonder and pathos from the careful observation of mundanity. As Bartell contemplates time and gravity on the quietly affecting title track, his words have a childlike awe that’s undercut by the eerily tranquil remove of his delivery; below, you can check out our premiere of the video for “Light Enough,” plus Bartell’s upcoming tour dates with Kevin Morby.
