Premiere: Kid Astray Mixtape (by:Larm Edition)
by:Larm Runs March 4-7 in Oslo, Norway
Mar 02, 2015 By:Larm 2015
We admit it—we’re not Norwegian. So despite our love for the country, sometimes we miss things that are happening within its borders. That’s why Kid Astray’s by:Larm mixtape is such a surprise. The band is out to turn us on to a scene we never even knew existed.
“We’re currently part of a musical movement of sorts in Norway,” says the band. “A wave of new artists and bands have all gotten together in the small town Sandvika just outside Oslo, and 2015 looks like it’s going to be a big year for many of them. It’s also very varied, with everything from electronic artists like Coucheron, CLMD and Kasket Club, to folk pop acts like Einar Stray Orchestra and Fay Wildhagen. We want to let people get the chance to discover this scene with this mixtape, so it’s basically filled with our favorite new Sandvika songs and remixes by our local heroes. And as a small bonus we’ve left one of our earliest studio drafts for ‘Back To The Ordinary’ as the outro. Most of us will be playing at by:Larm, so be sure to catch a glimpse of everyone live!”
