It’s been a quite a ride leading up to Iceland Airwaves, hasn’t it? We’ve laughed, we’ve cried, we’ve heard some great music. But before we go and start enjoying the fest IRL, we’re leaving you with one last, perfect mix, brought to you by Lido Pimienta.

“The music in this mix has helped me go through existential crisis as well as has helped me make new friends it has most importantly make me be proud of my mixed heritage as an afro indigenous woman from South America,” she says of her picks. “I was born in Colombia but live in Canada so in this in-between and “who the hell am I anyways?” kind of existence I finally and happily feel the most comfortable at. These rhythms and hymns that are so familiar and so natural to me have all allowed for such comfort to take place. Most of the music I have included in this playlist has mostly being recorded in different continents and also several years apart from another, but in these songs one can definitely find the same elements and same heart in them…I hope the people listening to it like it and get to know my heart a bit, this is a gift for you.”
