One of the many (many) reasons we’re excited about Iceland Airwaves? All the local acts that have yet to grace our shores. Represnting for the home team today is M-Band, who put together a special entry into our mixtape series.

“I must admit that I’m quite lazy when it comes to discover and listen to new music, so while I constructed the mix I used the opportunity to go surfing and shopping on the most common medias,” explains the man behind M-Band, Hörður Bjarnason. “I feel the trip is quite enjoyable and inspiring as I’m always falling down paths and subgenres, encountering more and more interesting sounds. After blending in the new tunes I’ve found with few old favourites and own compositions this ended up being the result I wanted to project. The effects used on previous UTR mix are still there for spicing things up, but more subtle so the music may shine through. Bon Appétit!”

Listen to his blend of tunes below. The gorge on previous entries, Vök, Tonik Ensemble, Bo Ningen, Anna B. Savage, LA Priest, Sea Change and Sin Fang. Coming with us to Airwaves! High five.
