Next week, Under the Radar is hosting two SXSW parties. (One day party on Thursday that’s open to fans without badges, and a night party on Saturday for official badge/wristband holders.)

In honor of the occasion, Mew, who will be playing our day party, handcrafted us a mixtape. Ever wonder what song will get bassist Johan Wohlert on the dance floor? What Icon the band saw while recording Frengers? Or what song the group sings before hitting the stage? Check out the mix below. Hopefully it’ll help hold you over until Mew releases their new album +- on April 27.

Tracklist:

1. AC/DC: It’s a Long Way to the Top if You Wanna Rock n Roll

Bon Scott era AC/DC at its finest! My all time favorite AC/DC song!

2. New Order: Crystal

They’ve done many amazing songs this was sort of a comeback song after a long break and it oozes attitude.

3. Led Zeppelin: Whole Lotta Love

It’s the riff, ain’t it??

4. Tom Petty: Free Fallin’

Saw Mr. Petty once while we recorded the Frengers album in LA. He had his cowboy hat on. Cooooool cat!!

5. Roy Orbison: I Drove All Night

We always used to sing this song as a band warm up before gigs. It’s one of the great pop songs sung by one of the sweetest voices to have ever graced our airways.

6. Metallica: Enter Sandman

Lars Ulrich… Danish and proud about it! Lars is rarely given the credit he’s due. But he’s freakin’ brilliant!

7. The Killers: When You Were Young

When they get it right they are the best new-ish rockband out there. Brandon Flowers voice brings tears to my eyes in this song. It’s pathos at its finest!

8. U2: Pride (In the Name of Love)

Speaking of pathos at its finest??! My word!! So much passion heart and feel.

9. Judas Priest: Breaking the Law

This will get me on the dance floor, guaranteed.

10. Depeche Mode: Enjoy the Silence

Maybe my all time favorite song ever… That guitar theme?! Sooooo perfectly produced.

If you have never planned a party or organized an event, offer to do so to make sure that you have the stamina and interest you have in planning events as a business. A party planner ny can give you more details about how a job can be done. Write a business plan outlining your service, prices, and financial forecasts. It’s time to decide if you will focus on a specific type of event, such as weddings or conferences.
