Prince
Prince has announced that he has reached a new agreement with Warner Bros that has given him full ownership of the master recordings of his classic hits. Through this new exclusive global licensing partnership The Purple One has regained control of every album released from 1978 into the nineties. With a number of new, previously unheard music on the horizon, Prince will first celebrate the 30th anniversary of his landmark album Purple Rain with a digitally re-mastered, deluxe version to be released sometime this year.
In a statement Prince says, “A brand-new studio album is on the way and both Warner Bros. Records and Eye are quite pleased with the results of the negotiations and look forward to a fruitful working relationship.”
