Britpop band Rialto have announced their first new album in 24 years, Neon & Ghost Signs, and shared its first single, “No One Leaves This Discotheque Alive,” via a music video. Neon & Ghost Signs is due out April 25 via Fierce Panda. Check out the song below, followed by the album details and the band’s upcoming tour dates.

Rialto formed in 1997 and released two albums, 1998’s Rialto and 2001’s Night on Earth. Rialto made it to #21 on the UK album charts and the album had three Top 40 singles in the UK: “Untouchable,” “Dream Another Dream,” and most memorably “Monday Morning 5.19.” The band never made it big in America, but found surprising success in South Korea, where Rialto went double platinum. In 2023 the band reformed and performed again.

Frontman Louis Eliot produced the album with Tam Johnstone. Cenzo Townsend mixed the album. Neon & Ghost Signs was inspired by a near-death experience Eliot had six years ago while vacationing in Spain, when he had to have emergency surgery.

“What you might think is if you have a very close to death experience you want to start looking after yourself,” he says in a press release. “I just went chasing full speed after my youth. I was just like, ‘Fuck it, I might not be here next week, I’m just going to dive in.’”

And so Eliot ended a long-term relationship and dived back into London’s late-night party scene, which also influenced the album.
