Run the Jewels’ new song, “2100,” was written months ago but wasn’t due for release right now. The duo of Killer Mike and El-P decided to share the song early in response to Donald Trump winning the election on Tuesday night. The song features Boots and will be on the band’s forthcoming third album, Run the Jewels 3 (aka RTJ3), which doesn’t have a release date yet. It follows “Talk to Me,” which was the first taste of RTJ3. Listen to “2100” below, followed by the band’s upcoming tour dates.
The band issued this statement about the song: “for our friends. for our family. for everyone who is hurting or scared right now. here is a song we wrote months ago. we werent planning on releasing it yet but… well it feels right, now. its about fear and its about love and its about wanting more for all of us. its called 2100. we hope it finds you well.
love,
jaime and mike”
