Beloved British indie-pop trio Saint Etienne released a new album, Home Counties, last year via Heavenly. Now they have announced some new tour dates for this September, but instead of performing their new album they will be celebrating the 20th anniversary of 1998’s Good Humor and performing that album in its entirety. That will be followed by a set of “hits, old classics, and a brand new song or two.” Tickets go on sale this Friday and the dates are below, followed by the album’s single “Sylvie.”

Sub Pop released Good Humor in the U.S. and it ended up being one of their most popular albums with American fans. It was recorded in Malmo, Sweden with producer Tore Johansson at his Tambourine studio, an entirely analogue facility where two Cardigans albums (Life and First Band On the Moon) had also been recorded prior. The band (Sarah Cracknell, Bob Stanley, and Pete Wiggs) all lived in an apartment in the city for six weeks.

Stanley had this to say about the album in a press release: “My memories of making Good Humor are all good, and that’s not just looking back 20 years through rose-colored glasses. Living in a flat in Malmo together for six weeks made it feel like we were The Monkees, and I think that spirit comes across on the album. It contained some of my favorite St Et songs, that wise owl Tore Johansson’s production was exceptional, and I was thrilled when it went down so well in the States.”

Cracknell had this to say: “I’m so looking forwarded to touring Good Humor this autumn with our fabulos live band! I think it’s the best live line up we’ve ever had. Drummer Mike, the amazing Bennett brothers, Gerard Johnson and of course Debsey will really bring the album to life and add a certain je ne sais quoi!”
