Following a name-making single and live EP the UK’s all-female post-punk foursome Savage have announced the arrival of their debut record, Silence Yourself, which will see release on May 7 on Matador. Produced by Johnny Hostile and Rodaidh McDonald the full-length record features new recordings of songs previously heard on the released single and EP (“Husbands,” “I Am Here,”“City’s Full,” etc.) as well a number of brand new tracks, including the lead single “She Will,” which you listen to below. To the side is the Silence Yourself cover sleeve, which includes an open letter from the band to anyone looking to delve into the music within:

SAVAGES is not trying to give you something you didn’t have already, it is calling within yourself something you buried ages ago, it is an attempt to reveal and reconnect your PHYSICAL and EMOTIONAL self and give you the urge to experience your life differently, your girlfriends, your husbands, your jobs, your erotic life and the place music occupies in your life. Because we must teach ourselves new ways of POSITIVE MANIPULATIONS, music and words are aiming to strike like lightning, like a punch in the face, a determination to understand the WILL and DESIRES of the self.

“She Will”:

Silence Yourself:

Shut Up
I Am Here
City’s Full
Strife
Waiting for a Sign
Dead Nature
She Will
No Face
Hit Me
Husbands
Marshal Dear
