Shamir Announces New Album, Shares “90’s Kids” Video

Revelations Due Out November 3 via Father/Daughter Records

Sep 13, 2017 Shamir

Shamir released his debut album, Rachet, in 2015 via XL. It included his breakthrough single “On the Regular,” which has more recently gotten renewed exposure via an Old Navy ad. After being dropped by XL, in April the Las Vegas musician surprise-released a new album, Hope, that was recorded in one weekend. Now he has signed to San Francisco indie label Father/Daughter Records and announced a new album, Revelations, which is due out November 3. He has shared a video for its first single, “90’s Kids.” The song laments the challenges of those born in the 1990s and the video superimposes Shamir’s mouth over photos of various ‘90s icons. Watch it below, followed by the album’s tracklist and cover art.

A press release describes the album like this: “Revelations finds Shamir going back to what has always inspired him: outsider music, country and punk. The result is raw and vulnerable, songs stripped down to their emotional core. These are Shamir’s Revelations.”

Shamir and Father/Daughter will be donating $1 from every pre-order sale to the Mental Health Association of PA.

Revelations Tracklist:

1. Games
2. You Have A Song
3. 90’s Kids
4. Her Story
5. Blooming
6. Cloudy
7. Float
8. Astral Plane
9. Straight Boy
